The HaiYang (or Ocean) constellation was designed for oceanography research and currently comprises 2 families, HY-1 series and HY-2 series. Sensor bands onboard include 4 band MS and ocean color. With daily revisit frequency and a massive swath ranging from 950-2900 km, HY-1C/2B are capable of monitoring vast ocean areas.
